Sasse Lake Farms: Campfire Potatoes

SLFCAMPFIREPOTATOES.JPG

My favorite recipes often include ways to get the whole family involved. I cherish the moments I get to spend with my boys in the kitchen sharing the daily practice of making food for the family. Not only is it great one-on-one time, it’s just another way my kids get a deeper appreciation for the food on their plate. Plus, I am determined that my boys will be able to cook more than mac n’ cheese and PB&J’s when they leave home (if they so choose) - haha!

These are my Campfire Potatoes. Named so because they can be easily made and carried out to the campfire for a meal outside. Plus, everyone gets to assemble their own favorite toppings!

You can save the recipe below, plus I’ll add a Cowboy variation below!

COWBOY VERSION:

Cook potatoes, ground beef and bacon as directed and fill potatoes with meat. Drizzle your favorite BBQ sauce on top. Add sliced and sautéed red oinions and sliced mozzarella cheese. Return to oven and bake until cheese is melted. Garnish with chives. Enjoy!
